I need to change the seals in my clutch master cylinder (cheapskate I know, but I'll try just the seals first).

Delving under the dash I was expecting to find a normal clevis and split pin (like the brake pedal) holding the clutch push-rod to the pedal. But no ..too easy, I found this instead.

Do I just undo the locknut and wind the push-rod into the master cylinder, after having drained the fluid first? The actual clevis has a rivet running through it which I wasn't expecting to see.

Help will be appreciated, thanks.

Next to the locknut in your picture is a spring clip that when pushed off the trunion is part of the swivel pin which can then be pulled out and free the joint.

Push up here. clip will come off and pin slide out, complete with the clip, like a normal clevis pin.

Where you described finding a 'rivet'....that is the end of the clevis pin riveted to the spring clip.
Push the clip sideways by 20-30 degrees and the clevis pin and spring clip come out together.

Thanks guys for those quick answers. When you're lying on your back in the footwell, (wearing varifocal lens glasses that don't work upside down!) it's not easy to see the detail of the fitting.

This job has been nagging me for some time so have vowed to get it sorted by Christmas.

Does anyone know if you can replace the clevis pin
I found mine to be quite worn when I did my master cylinder and I made something to fit but it might be useful to put in the parts pages if anyone knows a standard bolt on replacement.

I replaced mine with a suitably sized bolt, stiff nut and some plain washers to space things correctly.
